Maybe you have no carbine background and have had an AR-15 in your closet for some time – or – maybe you have had some carbine handling experience. This Intro to Carbine course introduces you to the safe operation of a carbine (AR-15, M-4, or AK system) allowing you to practice confidently on your own.
Course Content:
This is an entry-level course designed to give you an introduction to the fundamentals of operating and manipulating a carbine rifle safely. You will be led through a series of instructor-directed classroom instruction as well as hands-on live-fire exercises. You will learn proper zeroing and sighting for your choice of sights and optics. All manipulations will be thoroughly taught as they apply to your weapon system. You will fire from a variety of standing, kneeling, and prone positions and how to recover from those positions.

- Rifle Safety
- Basics of Ballistics and Zeroing
- Basic Weapon Manipulation
- Standing, Kneeling, Prone Shooting Positions
- Carbine manipulations: load, unload, immediate action, remedial action
- Breath and Trigger Control
- Malfunctions, and Other Problems
- Inspection and Maintenance
- Legal Considerations
Requirements: No previous carbine experience is necessary for this course including classroom and range time. Once completed, it lays the groundwork for future rifle training and is a prerequisite to taking those courses.
Equipment Required:
Proper range attire. Rifle sling, magazine holster, belt, 2 magazines, 200 rounds minimum.
